Good times on Phi Phi Island

Phi Phi Island has a huge reputation as a party island in a cool place.
There is so much to do for fun in the day with all the activities and wonderful sights of the Phi Phi Ley cliffs and bays, the bars on Phi Phi Island are a riot at night that it is almost impossible to find people without a smile on their face.
A lot of people traveling around will spend a bit of time here but the prices can be a bit beyond the normal backpacker (if you are not shopping around, good deals can be had!), so it appeals to people taking a holiday from work but those who want have a great time.
If Phi Phi Island is on your holiday itinerary you will have a blast!

Hanging out on Maya bay on Phi Phi Island

Maya Bay is the best place to hang out on on Phi Phi island. Just watch the world go by! If you get there during the day the day trippers swarm the beach like headless chickens, the Chinese Asians don’t seem to know what to do with themselves when confronted with such beauty. Huddling together they wait for their time to get back on the boat and find dry land.
But… hang out long enough and the day tippers depart and this world class beach comes alive to the magic of the scenery. The tall majestic cliffs that surround Phi Phi island, covered in a jungle creates an atmosphere where time stood still. Maya Bay is a world class beach.

Bucket drink on Phi Phi Island

The bucket drink came to Phi Phi Island by Thomas, a Swedish guy who worked the diving Industry from Phi Phi island to the Red Sea. Where he got the idea from who knows but the original biucket contained a bottle of Mekong Whiskey, (Phi Phi’s cheapest), 2 bottle of regular coke ice and as many straws as were friends around the table.

The Phi Phi Bucket then morphed as new bigger better ideas came along and now you can see these beauties selling Pina Coloda and a whole range of fancy cocktails.

Girl going to Monkey Beach on Phi Phi Island

Monkey Beach on Phi Phi Don Island was so named by a traveling Yatchsman who anchored up in Loh Modee in the 1990’s.
He later ran the watersports center for PP Princess and PP Charlies before the tsunami. From here he would describe the kayaking trips round to his favorite beach on large white boards and always paint a picture on the way.
Traditionally called Yung Gassem it obviously meant nothing to westerners. But the Monkeys that come down from the jungle and scavenge were very obvious so the name stuck. Monkey beach under the Phi Phi Don cliffs is magnificent.

Dudes and babes at Cheap Charlies Photo Phi Phi Island

Loh Dalum Beach is where the cool guys hang out on Phi Phi island. It ‘s a fun place where people sunbath, sleep chat and maybe play a bit of Volleyball.

Many people hire kayaks for the afternoon from here and take a gentle 10 minute paddle round to Yung Gassem or Monkey beach a sensational, lost in time place with raw jungle stretching to the very top the Phi Phi don cliffs

The sands of Loh Dalum are golden white and the Phi Phi Don cliffs on the west and the slopes of the cashew nut hills to the east frame a perfect vision. To the north the cliffs around Nui Bay, one of the more remote bays on Phi Phi, looms out of the azure blue sea.

This is super cool Loh Dalum beach Phi Phi, the place where the equally super cool PP Charlies used to have their restaurant and bakery before the Tsunami. Nothing changes in many ways, this is still the place to hang.
